ECS Group of Companies (ECS) seeks a Geotechnical Staff Project Manager I to support geotechnical engineering and CMT projects. You will analyze data, prepare reports, and coordinate tasks across teams in an office-focused role with field exposure for training.

Ideal candidates will have a civil/geology background, strong communication, and developing project management skills. This role emphasizes teamwork, documentation, and client interaction within ECS's service lines.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication (verbal and written)
  • Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar
  • A professional license is not required but helpful for career progress
  • A valid driver's license is required if driving for ECS
  • Basic knowledge of geotechnical principles and applications
  • Basic knowledge of construction materials testing and ASTM standards
  • Ability to work with teams, clients, and supervisors
  • Developing project management and client communication skills
  • Self-motivated and responsible work ethic
  • Basic familiarity with geotechnical software (developing)

Responsibilities

  • Supports geotechnical report preparation and recommendations
  • Manages CMT tasks, daily report review, and issue tracking
  • Assists with project budgeting and invoice preparation
  • Supports proposal preparation for geotechnical and CMT projects
  • Performs or assists boring, test pit layout, and site access evaluation
  • Prepares drilling packages and obtains utility clearances
  • Conducts research on local geologic conditions
  • Assists supervision of field investigations and drilling
  • Performs or supports in-situ testing and soil classification
  • Reviews field reports and documents project data
  • Communicates with project teams, contractors, and field personnel
  • Performs other technical, field, and project support tasks
