Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group (QISG) is seeking a Project Geotechnical Engineer to support large-scale energy generation and transmission projects across North America. You will focus on foundation engineering and design-build delivery, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to develop geo-structural designs and construction drawings.

The role involves pre-construction investigations, calculations, and modeling to support foundations, retaining walls, and civil construction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure.
  • Minimum 5 years design experience in geotechnical, structural, transmission, or substation engineering.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Ability to work with moderate supervision in a small or medium-sized office setting.
  • Master’s degree in geotechnical engineering or engineering geology.
  • Familiarity with geotechnical software: LPILE, GROUP, FAD, SHAFT, APILE, SLIDE, RS2, Plaxis, RISA, INVENTOR, or SPColumn.

Responsibilities

  • Execute assignments applying standard and advanced engineering techniques for geo-structural tasks.
  • Perform engineering analyses for deep foundations and retaining structures.
  • Oversee and manage analyses performed by other staff and project professionals.
  • Perform limit equilibrium and finite element stability modeling for slopes and structures.
  • Interface with project leadership across geotechnical, structural, and civil teams.
  • Supervise field subcontractor activities such as geotechnical drilling and testing.
  • Develop written reports and communicate findings under senior supervision.
  • Occasional site visits to North American project sites.
  • Engage in sector organizations and industry events.
  • Work under supervision of Engineering Director and Senior Engineer.
