Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group (QISG) seeks a Project Geotechnical Engineer to support large-scale energy projects across North America. You will lead geo-structural design, develop construction drawings, and provide engineering support through construction with mentoring from senior staff.

The role emphasizes foundation engineering, geotechnical investigations, modeling, and collaboration with civil, structural, and construction teams in an office-based setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure.
  • Minimum 5 years design experience in geotechnical, structural, transmission, or substation engineering.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Master’s degree in geotechnical engineering or engineering geology.
  • Familiarity with the following software: LPILE, GROUP, FAD, SHAFT, APILE and SLIDE, RS2, Plaxis, RISA, INVENTOR, or SPColumn

Responsibilities

  • Execute assignments applying standard and advanced engineering techniques for geo-structural tasks.
  • Perform engineering analyses for deep foundations and retaining structures.
  • Oversee and/or manage analyses by other QISG staff.
  • Perform limit equilibrium and finite element stability modeling.
  • Interface with project leadership and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Oversee field subcontractor activities such as geotechnical drilling and testing.
  • Develop written reports and communicate findings professionally.
  • Occasional site visits across North America.
  • Participate in sector professional organizations and industry events.
  • Work under supervision of Engineering Director/Senior Engineer.
