Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group (QISG) is seeking a Project Geotechnical Engineer to support large‑scale energy projects across North America. You’ll contribute to geo‑structural design and pre‑construction investigations, including deep foundation analyses and retaining structures, under guidance from senior engineers.

Ideal candidates hold a P.E. licensure with 5+ years in geotechnical or related fields, excellent communication, and proficiency with key engineering software.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure.
  • Minimum 5 years design experience in geotechnical, structural, transmission, or substation engineering.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Ability to work with moderate supervision and maximum efficiency in a small or medium size office setting.
  • Master’s degree in geotechnical engineering or engineering geology.
  • Familiarity with LPILE, GROUP, FAD, SHAFT, APILE, SLIDE, RS2, Plaxis, RISA, INVENTOR, or SPColumn.

Responsibilities

  • Execute assignments requiring standard and advanced engineering techniques to carry out geo‑structural tasks.
  • Perform engineering analyses for design of deep foundations and retaining structures.
  • Oversee and/or manage engineering analyses performed by other staff and project professionals.
  • Perform limit equilibrium and finite element stability modeling for soil and rock slopes and retaining structures.
  • Interface closely with project leadership, geotechnical, geological, structural, transmission, civil engineering teams.
  • Participate in oversight of field subcontractor activities such as geotechnical drilling and testing.
  • Develop written reports and provide verbal communication under supervision of senior engineers.
  • Perform occasional site visits to North American project sites.
  • Participate in sector focused professional organizations and events.
  • Work under supervision of Engineering Director and/or Senior Engineer in an office setting.
