Job summary

Atlas is seeking a Senior Geotechnical and Pavement Engineer to lead technical execution and project delivery across the Midwest. You will manage transportation, aviation, municipal, and industrial projects from pursuit through design and construction, mentoring staff and maintaining strong client relationships.

Responsibilities include leading planning, field exploration, reporting, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards while steering projects to on-time, on-budget

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience, or a Master’s degree with 8+ years in geotechnical/pavement disciplines.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Indiana or ability to obtain licensure in nearby Midwest states within 1 year.
• Extensive knowledge of geotechnical engineering, pavement design and related testing, with leadership and client-management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical and pavement engineering projects through planning, investigation, design, construction, and closeout.
• Direct field exploration programs and coordinate testing to support engineering decisions.
• Develop practical, cost-effective design recommendations and serve as the technical lead on complex challenges.
• Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, calculations, and construction recommendations.
• Coordinate with roadway, structural, environmental, and construction teams to provide integrated solutions.
• Provide oversight during construction and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards.
• Mentor junior staff and support business development through client interactions and proposals.
• Establish strong relationships with DOTs, municipalities, and private clients; travel as needed across the Midwest.
