Job summary

WSP is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Lead to join our Geotechnical and Tunneling Team. The role will manage geotechnical design for bridges, buildings, tunnels, and retaining structures, with responsibilities spanning from inception to completion across New England and beyond.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering with geotechnical focus, 7–10 years of experience, and a PE license. Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and geotechnical software is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with geotechnical or tunneling focus.
  • 7–10 years of relevant geotechnical experience.
  • Professional engineer license required.
  • Extensive knowledge of geotechnical engineering and related disciplines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with geotech design software and related tools.

Responsibilities

  • Perform geotechnical engineering design and analyses for bridges, buildings, tunnels, and walls.
  • Prepare geotechnical memoranda, data reports and design reports.
  • Develop technical reports and presentations for project teams.
  • Coordinate geotechnical work in New England and other areas.
  • Oversee cross-functional teams, manage budgets and tasks.
  • Review infrastructure design plans for data integrity and code compliance.
  • Produce data visualizations and drawings for data interpretation.
  • Stay current with geotechnical engineering techniques and practices.

Education

Bachelor's degree Civil Engineering with Geotechnical or Tunneling focus
Strong communication skills
Willingness to travel and perform field work
Ability to lead cross-functional teams
