Job summary

TerraSense, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, seeks an entry-level Laboratory Technician to join our Totowa, NJ lab. You’ll gain hands-on experience testing soil, rock, concrete, and aggregate while learning ASTM and AASHTO standards under the guidance of experienced professionals.

This role offers training, a supportive environment, and opportunities to grow technical skills; weekend overtime may be required, with hours 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Mon–Fri, and compensation of $18 to $20

Qualifications

• Training and certifications will be provided.
• Reading, writing and understanding English required.
• Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, Construction Management or Earth/Environmental Sciences is preferred.
• Work hours will be 8 hours between 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Mon-Fri.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing procedures in the laboratory accurately and in accordance with standards and specifications.
• Become proficient in soil and rock classification systems.
• Communicate effectively with management, colleagues, and clients both verbally and in writing.
• Work independently with supervision.

NJSAT, ACI, NICET certifications preferred
