Job summary

ANS Lab in South Plainfield, NJ, is hiring a lab technician for soil and rock testing across ASTM/AASHTO standards. You will process samples, analyze results and support engineers and geologists in design decisions.

Primary duties include data entry, record-keeping, equipment calibration and safety. The role offers training, a fast-growing team, and opportunities to mentor others as you gain experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree to start date in geology/geotechnical field.

Responsibilities

• Perform soil and rock tests per ASTM and AASHTO standards.
• Review results for quality and design implications.
• Prepare clear data sheets and lab records.
• Collaborate with project engineers/geologists to meet project needs.
• Flag unusual results or issues promptly.
• Maintain and calibrate lab equipment to ensure reliable results.
• Manage samples from receipt to storage with proper documentation.
• Assist with sample shipping and local pickups.
• Keep workspace clean, safe and organized.
• Contribute to process and workflow improvements.
• Mentor interns and new team members as you grow.
