Langan is seeking an Intern/Co-op – Geotechnical Engineering in Parsippany, NJ for Spring 2027. This role provides hands-on exposure to field investigations, data collection, and basic engineering calculations under geotechnical leadership, with opportunities to work on site feasibility studies and report preparation.

You will gain experience with AutoCAD, geotechnical software, and collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams, supporting the preparation of exhibits and plans while developing

Qualifications

• Pursuing a 4‑year or advanced degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering; Geotechnical coursework preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail; good analytical and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsabilités

• Assist with planning and execution of field investigations, including logging borings and test pits, collecting samples, and recording data.
• Observe foundation and earthwork construction activities; monitor conformance with plans and specs.
• Identify and implement solutions to field and/or laboratory problems.
• Prepare standard logs and field forms, including logs and chain of custody.
• Conduct file reviews, site reconnaissance, and document searches.
• Perform calculations and learn geotechnical software; assist with report exhibits and figures in AutoCAD.
• Prepare reports documenting field investigations and analytical results.
• Perform other duties as requested.
