Job summary

Terracon is seeking a department manager in Wisconsin to supervise multiple projects, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to client requirements and Terracon’s standards. The role includes leading proposals, staff development, and profitability planning.

You will oversee staffing plans, recruitment, and annual business planning for the specialty service group, while driving key metrics like revenue growth and project billing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science or geology and 5 years’ practice experience. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 9 years’ related experience.
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise or monitor all projects to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to client requirements and company standards.
• Oversee preparation of proposals and cost estimates to ensure proper scoping and profitability.
• Lead staff training, development, performance reviews, and resource utilization.
• Plan and participate in business development to identify, win, and execute project opportunities and maintain client relationships.
• Manage department metrics for revenue growth, staffing, project billing and profitability.
• Foster a safe work environment and lead safety initiatives across projects.
• Monitor quality standards and continuous improvement on projects and proposals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
