Job summary

NV5, a national engineering and consulting firm, seeks an Engineering Technician for our Virginia field offices in Charlottesville, Richmond, and Roanoke. The role focuses on monitoring construction activities and performing testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt pavement materials.

A company truck, phone, and safety equipment are provided. Responsibilities include In-Place Density tests, aggregate and concrete sampling, and occasional asphalt sampling.

Qualifications

• Basic math and writing skills are preferred.
• Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Performs In-Place Density Tests using nuclear density gauge, drive sleeve, or sand cone method.
• Aggregate sampling and concrete/grout/masonry sampling, including air content, slump testing, and core sampling.
• May perform asphalt sampling, backscatter tests, and coring.
