GTA’s Sterling, VA office is seeking a Geotechnical Field Technician to perform field testing and observation for geotechnical and environmental projects. You will monitor soil moisture/density with a nuclear gauge, test concrete and asphalt, and document construction activities to ensure compliance with specs.

Daily reports and test summaries are required. Ideal candidates have a valid VA DOT certification, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a willingness to work outdoors.

Qualifications

• This position requires a valid VA DOT certification and access to reliable transportation.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required; NICET, WACEL and/or ACI certifications are preferred but not required.
• Candidate should enjoy working outdoors and be physically capable of lifting up to 60–80 pounds.

Responsabilités

• Monitor and test moisture and density of soils using a nuclear density gauge.
• Test concrete and asphalt and other materials to verify specifications.
• Observe construction activities and document compliance with technical specs.
• Prepare daily field reports and test summaries of work performed.
