Job summary

NV5 is seeking an Engineering Technician for our Charlotte, NC location. This role involves monitoring construction activities and testing soils, concrete, and asphalt pavement materials. A company vehicle, phone and safety equipment are provided.

Qualifications

• Will train employees without work experience; but prefer that candidates have at least some construction-related work history.
• Basic math and writing skills required.
• Strong work ethic and teamwork are important.

Responsibilities

• Performs In-Place Density Tests using nuclear density gauge, drive sleeve, or sand cone method.
• Aggregate Sampling. Concrete/Grout/Masonry sampling (including: air content; slump testing; visual observations; casting samples of concrete cylinders, mortar cubes, and grout prisms; and obtaining core samples).
• Also may perform asphalt sampling, backscatter tests, and coring.
