Job summary

NV5 is seeking a Senior Field Testing Technician to provide QA/QC services on construction materials and components per ASTM, ACI, and building codes. The role requires detailed recording of observations, tests, and results on assigned field projects.

The candidate will follow written and verbal directions, perform field tests, document findings, and communicate non-conformities to project managers while ensuring equipment calibration and safe operation in accordance with NV5 policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least four years of field experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• ACI Level I Certification.
• ICC Soils Special Inspector Certification a plus.
• Radiation safety training for nuclear density gauges a plus.
• NICET certification a plus.
• Ability to read plans and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Follow and execute written and verbal directions.
• Perform QA/QC tests on construction materials and document results.
• Communicate non-conforming tests/observations to site project manager.
• Review and comprehend specifications and plans.
• Maintain and submit daily field reports of results and observations.
• Provide maintenance and calibration on equipment per codes and standards.
• Transport, operate, and care for nuclear density gauge equipment per NV5 policy.
