Job summary

Partner Engineering and Science, Inc. is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Technician in Houston, TX to support our geotechnical practice. The role will involve field sampling, testing, and reporting to assist project teams.

You will drive to sites, operate field equipment, and contribute to site plans and exhibits. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of field inspection and material testing experience, a geology or engineering background, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience with field inspection and material testing for soils and concrete.
• Geology or Engineering degree is a big plus.
• License: Driver’s license in good standing, insured, capable of driving.
• Certifications: EIT, GIT, ACI, ICC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and laboratory sampling and testing.
• Observe and test earthwork and concrete construction.
• Drive to and from project sites and transport equipment and samples.
• Operate nuclear density gauge and other field equipment.
• Prepare field inspection reports on laptop.
• Read construction drawings and plot test locations on drawings.
• Assist the project management team with geologic research.
