Job summary

GeoEngineers, Inc. in Portland, OR is seeking a Geotechnical Field Technician to support field explorations and assist with laboratory testing and project deliverables.

You will monitor field activities, collect samples, prepare detailed daily field reports, operate field equipment, and perform safety inspections. Travel for short- and long-term assignments may be required; a valid US driver’s license is necessary.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
• 1 year of related field experience preferred; geotechnical experience strongly preferred.
• Health & Safety certification (e.g., Nuclear Density Gauge, 40 Hour HAZWOPER) required or may be obtained on hire.
• Valid driver’s license and 1 year of driving experience in the US.

Responsibilities

• Monitors field explorations and construction activities.
• Completes detailed, accurate field notes and daily field reports.
• Collects samples from the field (soil, groundwater, surface water, concrete, etc.).
• Maintains and operates field equipment/instrumentation as needed.
• Conducts field inspections in a safe manner per Health & Safety guidelines.
• May assist with laboratory testing.
