Job summary

GeoEngineers in Portland, OR is seeking a Project Geotechnical Engineer to manage technically challenging geotechnical projects, lead field exploration programs, and mentor junior staff. You will perform engineering analyses, prepare technical reports, and conduct site visits along with construction observations.

The role requires a PE license, strong verbal and written communication, and at least 4 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s degree with a Geotechnical Engineering focus strongly preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience is required.
• At least one year of project management experience.
• PE license required.
• Professional-level verbal and written communication skills are a must.

Responsibilities

• Lead or coordinate field exploration programs and construction observation projects, ensuring work aligns with plans and safety guidelines.
• Assist training of junior technical and technician staff.
• Perform engineering analyses and calculations; develop moderately complex conceptual models.
• Carry out moderately complex spatial analyses.
• Lead generation of technical reports; assist senior staff on portions of large reports.
• Support project management tasks including budget planning, field report reviews, and proposal development; manage small projects under supervision.
