First Roles is seeking a motivated Junior Geotechnical Technician in Newark, NJ. You will perform field soil testing, collect samples, and support laboratory analyses to evaluate subsurface conditions for foundation designs and site recommendations.

In this entry-level role, you’ll work with engineers to prepare logs and summaries, log data accurately, and help maintain testing equipment while complying with safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Fundamental understanding of soil mechanics and soil testing principles.
• Strong attention to detail and clear written/verbal communication.
• Basic computer literacy for data entry and reporting.

Responsabilités

• Perform standard field soil testing and sampling for site investigations.
• Conduct routine laboratory soil and aggregate tests per ASTM/AASHTO guidelines.
• Record observations accurately and log soil profiles for analysis.
• Assist engineers with subsurface logs and initial testing summaries.
• Operate and maintain field and lab testing equipment safely.
