Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services in Parsippany, NJ is seeking an Entry-Level Geotechnical Engineer to support planning and execution of field investigations, monitor earthwork construction, and assist in geotechnical report preparation on large projects.

The role offers hands‑on field experience, data collection, and opportunity to grow within a collaborative team environment. A civil/geotechnical background, 0–2 years of experience, and EIT/FE pursuit are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering is required.
• 0-2 years of work-related experience.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• EIT Certification, or current registration for FE exam preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with analytical and multitasking abilities.
• Willingness to spend the majority of work hours in the field.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and execution of field investigations, including logging borings and test pits and collecting samples.
• Observe foundation and earthwork construction activities and monitor conformance with plans.
• Identify and implement solutions to field and laboratory problems.
• Prepare logs and field forms (drilling/test pit logs, field dailies, chain of custody).
• Conduct site reconnaissance and document searches.
• Communicate issues to supervisor clearly and promptly.
• Perform other duties as requested.
