Job summary

HDR is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer in the Transportation Business Group for NY/NJ. You will perform geotechnical analysis and design, interpret subsurface data, and develop investigation plans for highways, bridges, and related projects.

Travel across the NY/NJ area is required and collaboration with senior staff is expected. Qualified candidates hold an MS in Geotechnical Civil Engineering, a PE license, and experience with GeoStudio, Ensoft, Settle3, PLAXIS, and Bentley tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in geotechnical engineering or closely related field.
• Professional engineer license recognized by licensing board (PE).
• Experience with geotechnical software and data interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical analysis and design for infrastructure projects.
• Interpret subsurface conditions for roadways, bridges, and foundations.
• Develop investigation plans and review boring logs and lab data.
• Prepare geotechnical reports and coordinate with project managers.
