Job summary

HDR is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Transportation Business Group in NY/NJ, with responsibilities spanning geotechnical analysis, design, and subsurface investigations for infrastructure projects. You will develop testing plans, review logs, and prepare technical reports while coordinating with project managers to ensure project goals are met.

Preferred candidates hold an MS in Geotechnical Civil Engineering, PE license, and experience with GeoStudio, Ensoft, and Bentley tools.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized by local board.
Experience with geotechnical software and field exploration programs.
Ability to travel within NY/NJ region.

Responsibilities

Perform geotechnical analyses and design for infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, foundations).
Develop subsurface investigation/ testing plans and review boring logs/data.
Coordinate with project managers to meet goals and budgets.
Prepare geotechnical reports and design calculations with clear documentation.
