Job summary

HDR is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join the Transportation Business Group in NY/NJ. You will perform geotechnical analysis, interpret subsurface conditions, and prepare reports for roadways, bridges, and other infrastructure. Expect collaboration with Senior staff and travel across NY/NJ.

Responsibilities include developing subsurface investigation plans, reviewing logs, and coordinating with project managers to meet project goals. A PE license and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or geotechnical field.
• Professional Engineer license recognized by the local licensing board.
• Experience with geotechnical software and data management tools.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel throughout NY/NJ area.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical analysis and design for infrastructure projects.
• Interpret subsurface conditions and develop design parameters.
• Develop subsurface investigation plans and review bore logs.
• Prepare geotechnical reports and coordinate with project managers to meet objectives.
• Supervise field explorations when needed.
