Job summary

Accura Engineering in Columbia, SC is seeking a Civil Engineer with 3–5 years of geotechnical experience to assist in preparing plans, specifications, and reports, and to support design using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

You will conduct site visits, coordinate with agencies, and help project managers with budgeting and scheduling while collaborating with other disciplines; GDOT experience and a Georgia PE license are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of geotechnical engineering or related experience.
• Georgia Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 3–5 years of experience on GDOT projects.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MS Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Internship or co-op in civil engineering preferred.
• Exposure to MicroStation, HEC-RAS, or stormwater modeling tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing engineering plans, specifications, and reports.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and analyses under senior engineers.
• Support design and drafting using AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
• Conduct site visits, field inspections, and data collection as needed.
• Assist with permitting, regulatory compliance, and coordination with clients/agencies.
• Participate in internal project meetings and collaborate with other disciplines.
• Support project managers in budgeting and scheduling tasks.
