Job summary

Accura Engineering in Birmingham, AL is seeking a civil engineer to assist in preparing plans, specifications, and reports for geotechnical projects. You will perform basic calculations, support design using AutoCAD/Civil 3D, and conduct site visits, with GDOT experience noted if applicable.

Applicants should have a B.S. in Civil Engineering, a GA PE license or eligibility, 3–5 years GDOT-related work, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• GA PE license required.
• Internship or co-op experience in civil engineering preferred.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering plans, specifications, and reports.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and analyses under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Support design and drafting efforts using AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
• Conduct site visits, field inspections, and data collection as needed.
• Assist with permitting, regulatory compliance, and coordination with clients and agencies.
• Participate in internal project meetings and collaborate with other disciplines.
• Support project managers in project delivery, including budgeting and scheduling tasks.
