Job summary

OWN, Inc. in Springfield, MO is seeking a Drilling Technician to support geotechnical fieldwork. You will operate drilling equipment, collect soil and rock samples, and assist with setup at project sites while following safety protocols.

You will maintain drilling logs, help perform in-situ tests (SPT/CPT), support the geotechnical team, and travel to sites as required. A high school diploma and safety-minded attitude are essential; vocational drilling training is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in drilling preferred.
• Experience in geotechnical or environmental drilling is advantageous.
• Knowledge of drilling techniques, equipment and fluids used in field surveys.

Responsibilities

• Operate drilling equipment and follow safety protocols at sites.
• Perform soil and rock sampling and monitor data quality.
• Set up, mobilize, and dismantle drilling rigs and prepare fluids.
• Maintain accurate drilling logs and assist with in-situ tests (SPT/CPT).
• Collaborate with geotechnical team and support field investigations.
• Ensure environmental and safety compliance on project sites.
