Job summary

Braun Intertec Corporation in Fargo, ND is seeking a geotechnical drilling assistant to join our drilling team. The Drilling Assistant will support the Crew Chief, perform subsurface investigations, collect soil, rock, and groundwater samples, and log field data.

This role requires travel up to 100% (typical Mon–Fri, with occasional weekends), outdoor work in all weather, and the ability to lift 50 lb (75 lb occasionally).

Qualifications

• Prior geotechnical drilling experience is preferred, but not required.
• Strong technical and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and perform necessary repairs.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers, customers, and supervisors.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Must be available for travel up to 100%.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly, 75 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Crew Chief in all aspects of drilling operation, while gaining the experience necessary to work with minimal direction.
• Assists in the collection of field samples and data.
• Returns field samples and data, organized and completed to the Project Manager.
• Responsible for maintaining tooling, equipment, and vehicles.
• Assists the Crew Chief with trouble shooting mechanical problems and perform the required repairs.
• Use required and approved personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing all functions.
• Responsible for promoting, communicating, and adhering to safe work practices.
• Responsible for completing all required paperwork and training in a timely manner.
