Job summary

UES is seeking a Driller's Assistant to support geotechnical drilling operations, soil exploration, and site investigations. You will operate, maintain, and transport drilling equipment, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance on outdoor job sites.

The role requires flexibility for overnight and weekend work with travel up to 70% to project sites regionally. Ideal candidates are mechanically inclined, safety minded, and able to lift up to 75 lbs while following procedures.

Qualifications

• OSHA 40‑hour training; must pass and maintain OSHA 40HR certification.
• Valid driver’s license with driving record; CDL preferred or willing to obtain.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret blueprints, procedures, manuals, and reports related to drilling, safety, and project requirements.
• Experience on construction sites, geotechnical drilling, or environmental field services is a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Field Data Collection software or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Collect and test soil, concrete, and other construction materials per specs.
• Ensure testing equipment functions and remains calibrated.
• Operate drilling tools and equipment; assemble/disassemble rigs.
• Maintain and clean drilling rigs, vehicles, and work areas for safety.
• Accurately complete daily time and labor reports and paperwork on time.
• Travel to job sites; adhere to safety policies and procedures.
