Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Team Leader for the Environmental Geospatial and Data Services Team in the Great Lakes region. The role oversees geospatial activities, coordinates project work, manages budgets and timelines, and leads staff development across multiple states including Minnesota and Wisconsin.

You will drive business development, ensure QA/QC, and mentor a skilled team of geospatial professionals. The position requires a degree in geospatial disciplines and substantial leadership experience.

Qualifications

• A degree or diploma in a Geospatial discipline.
• 15 years of experience preferred; 10+ with leadership considered.
• Prior management experience is an asset.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working with interdisciplinary teams in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee geospatial and data services activities within the region for the Business Center (BC).
• Strategize, plan, and coordinate project assignments to ensure efficient execution.
• Actively manage geospatial projects and tasks, including spatial data workflows, budgets, and timelines.
• Oversee staff utilization and resource allocation, collaborating with BC leadership to support growth.
• Address personnel and project-related issues proactively and constructively.
• Provide leadership and management to direct reports, including recruitment and onboarding of new team members.
• Lead the Year-End Performance Review and compensation process in line with policy.
• Establish and maintain relationships between internal teams, clients, and external consultants.
• Lead business development efforts for geospatial services in the region.
• Support and review cost estimates and budget development for proposals and opportunities.
• Ensure QA/QC compliance and timely delivery of project requirements.
• Foster cross-team collaboration and a strong safety culture.
• Mentor technical professionals and promote professional development.
• Coordinate with leadership to drive innovation and operational efficiency.
