Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. seeks a Full-Time Entry-Level Geoscientist to join our team under the supervision of our Lead Geophysicist.

You will collaborate with our remote sensing, geospatial field services, and geotechnical engineering teams on renewable energy and other power-related projects. Responsibilities include planning geophysical surveys (GPR, resistivity, magnetometer), processing data, coordinating field investigations, and preparing deliverables and proposals.

Qualifications

• Completion or near completion of a B.S. or M.S. program in the geological sciences.
• 1–3 years of related work experience preferred.
• Experience collecting and processing near-surface geophysical data (GPR, magnetometers).
• Familiarity with geotechnical engineering/testing, remote sensing, and GIS analysis.
• Strong communication, written and oral English.
• Attention to detail and quality control of work.

Responsibilities

• Plan geophysical surveys and acquire data (GPR, resistivity, magnetometer) in the field.
• Process and interpret geophysical and remote sensing data (LiDAR, imagery).
• Lead on-site coordination of geotechnical site investigations by managing drilling subcontractors and logging soil samples.
• Prepare geophysical, remote sensing, and geotechnical deliverables, reports, and proposals.
• Keep management informed of work status and progress.
