Westwood Professional Services, Inc. in Raleigh, NC seeks an entry-level Geoscientist to join our team under the supervision of our Lead Geophysicist. You will collaborate with remote sensing, geospatial field services, and geotechnical engineering teams on renewable energy and power-related projects.

Responsibilities include planning surveys, processing GPR, resistivity, and magnetometer data, coordinating field investigations, and producing deliverables and proposals. A B.S./M.S.

Qualifications

• Completion or near completion of a B.S. or M.S. program in the geological sciences. 1–3 years of related work experience is preferred.
• Experience collecting and processing near-surface geophysical data, specifically with GPR and magnetometers.
• Familiarity with geotechnical engineering and testing, remote sensing fundamentals, and GIS analysis.
• Strong technical and interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients, orally and in writing, in English.

Responsabilités

• Plan geophysical surveys and acquire geophysical data in the field (GPR, resistivity, magnetometer).
• Process and interpret geophysical and remote sensing data.
• Lead on-site coordination and execution of geotechnical site investigations by managing drilling subcontractors and soil logging.
• Prepare geophysical, remote sensing, and geotechnical deliverables, reports, and proposals.
• Keep management advised of work status and progress.
