University of Texas at Austin's Bureau of Economic Geology at the Pickle Research Campus in North Austin seeks a Research Scientist Associate IV to lead mineral resource assessment and mapping initiatives using GIS, satellite imagery, and database development to generate geologic maps.

The role requires an MS in Geology with 4+ years or a BS with 6+ years in geology, GIS skills, and geologic mapping experience; position is fixed-term through Dec 31, 2027 with a 40-hour week and a starting salary

Qualifications

• MS in Geology with 4+ years related experience or BS in Geology or similar discipline and at least 6 years related experience, GIS skills, familiar with mineral resources, geologic mapping experience.
• Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Lead mineral resource assessment, characterization and mapping efforts.
• Assist with the Mineral Resource Program tasks utilizing GIS, Satellite imagery and database development.
• Drafting and producing geologic maps, reports, and data associated with mineral resource projects.
