Job summary

The University of Nevada, Reno’s Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology seeks a Program Manager, Geologic Mapping to lead the production of map publications and data products for statewide resource assessment and hazards analysis. You will oversee mapping projects, budgets, and peer review while coordinating with the State Mapping Advisory Committee.

Ideal candidates have advanced geoscience credentials, proven project leadership, and grant experience, with responsibility for supervising a mapping

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geology plus 5+ years of related professional work experience or Master’s Degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Experience in structural/economic/Quaternary geology with substantial mapping effort.
• Strong project management and demonstrated grant experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee production of NBMG geologic map publications and digital datasets.
• Lead external grant funding efforts (STATEMAP) and manage budgets/cost shares.
• Supervise geologic mapping team and contract staff; coordinate with NBMG stakeholders.
