Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Molecular Diagnostics Technologist to perform high-complexity testing on DNA/RNA samples, including NGS and PCR workflows. You will work with clinicians and pathologists to ensure accurate results and maintain quality documentation.

The role requires a biology-related degree and experience in a molecular diagnostic lab; master’s degree is preferred. The position emphasizes regulatory compliance and continuous education within a CLIA/CAP framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemical, physical or clinical laboratory science.
• 1 year of experience in a Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory

Responsibilities

• Perform high complexity molecular testing including tissue preparation, DNA/RNA extraction, qPCR, NGS library prep, sequencing, and result analysis.
• Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot molecular and genomics laboratory instrumentation.
• Analyze, review, and verify molecular and NGS data to ensure accuracy, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Manage specimen processing, reagent preparation, inventory tracking, and detailed laboratory documentation.
• Participates in continuing education to ensure growth and development of the laboratory.
• Other duties as assigned or requested.
