PacBio is seeking a Research Assistant to support our Applications Lab. You will operate PacBio sequencing systems, prepare DNA and RNA libraries, and troubleshoot experiments to deliver high-quality sequencing results.

You will collaborate with scientists and lab staff, maintain accurate records, and help ensure reliable workflows. This hands-on role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organization, and a proactive mindset to support multiple projects in a fast-paced genomics

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, or related field or equivalent lab experience.
• Hands-on lab experience with DNA/RNA sample preparation.
• Ability to follow detailed laboratory protocols and maintain accurate records.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple experiments.
• Good analytical and troubleshooting skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsabilités

• Sequencer operations: Load, operate and monitor PacBio sequencing systems; track run performance and support reliable completion of sequencing experiments.
• Library preparation: Prepare DNA and RNA libraries, including whole-genome sequencing (WGS) and RNA workflows, following established protocols and quality control procedures.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and investigate issues with library preparation and sequencing runs; work with scientists and technical teams to determine causes and implement corrective actions.
• Laboratory operations: Maintain accurate experimental records, organize samples and reagents, and support routine laboratory equipment maintenance and inventory management.
