Job summary

Sudden Service, Inc. is seeking a field service technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel and gas engines at customer sites. You will plan workloads with the Service Manager, bring tools, and ensure equipment operates correctly after service.

The role requires on-site visits, some overnight stays, and occasional on-call rotations. Strong diagnostic skills and customer-focused communications are valued in this team-driven environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with diesel and/or gas engines, including servicing and repair.
• Some electrical experience and ability to read diagrams; knowledge of AC/DC systems.
• Power generation experience is a plus; familiarity with generators is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Consult with Service Manager to plan work and travel, prioritizing customer needs.
• Diagnose malfunctions; repair/replace parts; install new assemblies; adjust devices.
• Provide tools and parts and arrange for on-site repair at customer locations.
• Inspect, operate, and test machines to ensure proper function after service.
• Document work performed, time spent, and parts used for billing.
