Job Summary

Join the team responsible for establishing Palo Alto Networks as a leading digital authority in the age of AI. We are seeking a technically skilled GEO Manager to advance our strategy across traditional search, Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), and emerging AI agents.

Reporting to the Director of Search and GEO, this role will focus on technical SEO, AI crawler accessibility, GEO optimization, and performance measurement. The ideal candidate combines strong technical and analytical capabilities with an understanding of how search engines and AI systems discover, interpret, and recommend content.

Working closely with engineering, IT, product marketing, and content teams, this individual will drive scalable improvements in search visibility, AI representation, organic growth, and measurable business impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead technical audits and optimization of crawlability, indexation, JavaScript rendering, Core Web Vitals, structured data, site architecture, and internal linking across a complex enterprise website.
  • Optimize technical accessibility and content discoverability for traditional search engines, AI answer engines, and emerging autonomous agents. Monitor AI crawler behavior and evaluate new machine-readable content approaches.
  • Improve how search engines and LLMs understand Palo Alto Networks, its products, and services through structured data, semantic relationships, and content architecture.
  • Use search performance data, server logs, and enterprise analytics to identify opportunities, measure AI visibility and citations, and connect SEO/GEO initiatives to traffic, pipeline, and revenue.
  • Partner with engineering and IT to diagnose technical issues, implement scalable improvements, and integrate SEO/GEO requirements into web development processes.
  • Collaborate with content, product marketing, and Unit 42 teams to align content architecture with search intent, authoritative sources, and AI-driven discovery.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 8-10 years of dedicated GEO/SEO experience, preferably within a complex B2B, SaaS, or tech environment.
  • Emerging Search Knowledge: Strong foundational understanding of Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and how LLMs retrieve, "chunk," and cite web content.
  • Technical SEO Expertise: Proficiency in handling technical SEO elements including Schema markup, JSON LD, XML sitemaps, and complex site architectures.
  • Tool Proficiency: Expert level experience with enterprise SEO and analytics tools such as Semrush, Ahrefs, Conductor, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, and Adobe Analytics.
  • Pipeline & Lead Gen Focus: Proven understanding of how GEO/SEO intersects with Paid Search (SEM), and a track record of optimizing the organic funnel to drive conversions and pipeline.
  • Cybersecurity Interest/Knowledge: Previous experience in cybersecurity is a major plus; ability to quickly grasp complex technical threats and translate them into search opportunities is highly desired.
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to translate complex search data into actionable insights for content writers, designers, and engineering teams.
  • Education: BS/BA in Marketing, Data Science, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
