Job summary

Slalom is seeking a technologist to design, build, and deploy generative AI and ML solutions for clients, joining a diverse team of engineers, data scientists, and AI thought leaders. The role focuses on LLM-powered applications, RAG, prompt engineering, and production-ready ML systems, with a strong emphasis on validation, observability, and practical business impact.

This position requires onsite presence at Slalom offices within commutable distance, with occasional client work, and offers

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience implementing models or ML algorithms into production.
• 2-4 years of professional Managed or IT Professional consulting experience.
• Strong consultative and communication skills to convey complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Solid technical foundation with curiosity to stay on the creative edge of ML/AI solutions.
• Fluency in AI, GenAI, ML and one major cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Hands-on experience building generative AI solutions using LLMs, embeddings, vector search, RAG, agents, prompt engineering, fine-tuning or model adaptation.
• Experience with AI validation, observability, and production quality metrics (accuracy, groundedness, safety, latency, cost, drift).
• Experience deploying ML/AI into production and discussing best practices.
• Understanding of validation frameworks for AI/ML tools and production-ready offerings.
• Excellent Python skills for ML/AI use cases.
• Data Science / Data Engineering background preferred.
• Nice to have: experience in sales support in Data Science/ML/AI; familiarity with Databricks and Snowflake; experience with ML workflow tools / MLOps.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy generative AI and ML solutions that solve business problems.
• Develop LLM-powered applications using RAG, agents, prompt engineering, and tool calling.
• Apply ML/DL tech to build AI tools solving real business problems.
• Assist in design and delivery of traditional ML solutions (CV, NLP, recommender systems).
• Stay updated on AI/ML concepts and emerging trends for solution discussions.
