Job summary

University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center (UM BWMC) seeks a General Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (PA-C or ACNP) to join a collaborative surgical team. The role combines inpatient floor care with procedural involvement and potential OR exposure, within a supportive, academic-aligned environment.

The position offers a stable 40-hour work week with a team-based model, opportunities to teach residents, and close collaboration with surgeons, nurses, and APP colleagues.

Qualifications

• Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Acute Care Certified Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) required.
• Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage ~8 inpatient consults per day.
• Team-oriented with strong communication skills and a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced surgical setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage post-operative and surgical patients throughout their care journey.
• Complete inpatient consults and rounding on surgical patients.
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and APP colleagues.
• Possibly participate in operating room exposure and supervise residents in an academic environment.
