Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, Virginia seeks a General Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join a busy general surgery team. The APP will work with 13 surgeons, support a four-day, 10-hour shift schedule, and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across the surgical continuum.

The ideal candidate has surgical or acute care experience, strong assessment skills, and thrives in a team-based setting. Licensure in Virginia and BLS/PALS/ACLS as required will be needed.

Qualifications

• Surgical, acute care, or general surgery experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work within a large, collaborative surgical team.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive general surgery care in collaboration with surgeons.
• Perform evaluations, histories, exams, and develop treatment plans.
• Manage preoperative and postoperative care.
• Evaluate and coordinate postoperative needs with the surgical team.
• Order and interpret labs and imaging within scope.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and recovery.
