Job summary

Legacy Silverton Medical Center in Oregon is seeking a General Surgeon to provide comprehensive surgical care across office, outpatient, and inpatient settings. The role includes on-call non-trauma coverage for Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

The candidate will perform consultations, manage follow-up care, and participate in quality improvement and community outreach initiatives. Licensure in the applicable state and ACLS are required; ATLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of four-year U.S. Medical School or equivalent.
• Completion of general surgery residency.
• Board Certified or board eligible in general surgery (ACLS required).

Responsibilities

• Provides a full range of general surgical care to patients in office, outpatient, or inpatient settings.
• Provides non-trauma on-call coverage for Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital.
• Provides office follow up of general surgery patients and consultations on surgical issues.
• Participates in Legacy Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement programs and committees as requested.
• Engages in community outreach related to Legacy's general surgery services.
• Completes medical records, coding and billing paperwork in a timely fashion.
• Works with pediatric, adult, and elderly patients and collaborates with other specialists to develop comprehensive surgical services.

Responsibilities

• Provides a full range of general surgical care to patients of Legacy Health System. Such care is provided in an office, outpatient, or inpatient setting and includes the full and expected mix of patient problems and surgical approaches.


• Provides “non-trauma” coverage on an “on-call” capacity for Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital.


• Provides office follow up of general surgery patients.


• Provides consultation on general surgical issues.


• Participates in Legacy Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement programs as appropriate for clinical practice.


• Participates on relevant committees as requested.


• Participates in community outreach activities regarding Legacy’s general surgery services.


• Completes medical records, coding and billing schedules and forms, and other needed paperwork in a timely fashion.


• Works with pediatric, adolescent, adult, and elderly/geriatric patients.


• Works with other specialists to develop a comprehensive Legacy surgical services program.

Qualifications

• Graduate of four-year U.S. Medical School or equivalent.


• Completion of general surgery residency.

Licensure

• Medical License for the applicable state.


• Membership on LPH Medical Staff.


• Board Certified or board eligible in general surgery


• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association required.


• ATLS preferred.
