Job summary

Legacy Health in the Portland metro area seeks a Breast Surgical Oncologist to join a team of breast surgeons and physician assistants. The role covers office, outpatient, and inpatient cancer care with opportunities for clinical and investigator-initiated trials.

Qualifications

• Graduate of four-year U.S. Medical School or equivalent.
• Completion of General Surgery residency.
• Board Certified in General Surgery.
• Board fellowship in Surgical Oncology or equivalent experience.
• Medical License in applicable state.
• BLS for Provider certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Provides a full range of cancer care in office, outpatient, or inpatient settings.
• Provides non-trauma on-call coverage for Legacy Hospitals.
• Office follow up of cancer patients.
• Consults on various cancer-related issues.
• Participates in Legacy QA/QI programs as appropriate for clinical practice.
• Participates on relevant committees as requested.
• Participates in community outreach regarding Legacy’s Cancer Services.
• Completes medical records, coding and billing schedules in a timely fashion.
• Works with adult and elderly/geriatric patients.
• collaborates with other specialists to develop a comprehensive Legacy Cancer program.

• Provides “non-trauma” coverage on an “on-call” capacity for Legacy Hospitals.
• Provides office follow up of cancer patients.
