Job summary

Valmont Industries in Salina, KS, is seeking a General Shop Help in the Coatings Division. You will prepare products for galvanizing by hanging angles, staging tubulars, and prepping small parts for galvanizing, contributing to efficient production workflows.

The role requires physically handling materials, following instructions, and maintaining safety standards; starting wages are $20.00/hour with shift differentials for 2nd and 3rd shifts, and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Must read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to read a tape measure.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong safety awareness and adherence to procedures.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect unsafe production fixtures, chains and hooks; repair or discard as needed.
• Hand wire small to medium parts to racks for pickling or galvanizing.
• Pull and place chains and ropes around steel bundles for racking.
• Move lightweight steel pieces by hand within the plant and yard.
• Use air or electric tools to prepare steel for pickling or galvanizing.
• Assist in general plant cleanup and housekeeping with a safety mindset.
