Aerotek is seeking a Production Worker / Machine Operator for a climate-controlled, high-volume facility in Pontiac, MI. You will operate line equipment, inspect parts, assemble products, and support multiple areas to ensure on-time orders.
The role requires standing for long shifts, lifting up to 25 pounds, and following detailed work instructions with a strong emphasis on safety and quality. Previous automotive manufacturing exposure and familiarity with power tools are a plus.
This role involves operating production machinery to manufacture half shafts and related automotive components in a high-volume, climate-controlled facility. You will follow detailed work instructions, meet safety and quality standards, and help ensure production targets are consistently achieved across assigned shifts.
Operate production line machinery to feed, run, and monitor equipment according to work instructions.
Inspect parts and components against defined quality criteria to ensure they meet specifications.
Assemble products following detailed work instructions and quality alerts.
Assist in various production areas as needed to support continuous workflow.
Monitor the production process and promptly report issues or abnormalities.
Perform visual inspections of parts produced, following work instructions and quality alerts.
Carry out basic quality and testing checks to verify product conformity.
Perform other production-related activities as directed by leadership.
Clean and organize the workplace to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
Pack final products according to work instructions, ensuring proper labeling and handling.
Communicate effectively with coworkers to support efficient production and on-time completion of orders.
Stand for extended periods throughout the shift while performing production duties.
Participate in continuous training within the production department and apply new skills on the job.
Perform other duties as assigned to support overall production operations.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds repetitively and perform frequent squatting, bending, and ducking.
Ability to stand on your feet for the full duration of the shift.

The role is based in a 30,000 sq. ft. warehouse area within a larger 150,000 sq. ft. renovated facility in a former automotive manufacturing building. The plant is described as spotless and climate controlled, providing a clean and comfortable production setting. Work is performed on production lines using machinery, power tools, hand tools, and standard material handling equipment. Shifts include options such as A Crew (5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Tuesday through Friday) and B Crew (4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday), supporting extended periods of standing and repetitive tasks. The environment requires the use of steel-toe footwear starting on the first day and adherence to safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and organized work areas
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pontiac, MI.
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.35/hr.
