Job summary

Harps is seeking a General Merchandise Manager to lead the department, oversee staffing and operations, and ensure top-notch store presentation and customer service. You will drive inventory control, maintain displays, and train staff to deliver consistent results while upholding safety and quality standards.

You will mentor teams, manage day-to-day processes, and coordinate with leadership to meet financial goals and service excellence in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• General merchandise experience preferred.
• Able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Clear written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage in a fast-paced environment.
• Moves and lifts merchandise up to 60 pounds.
• Stand/walk for long periods; safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general merchandise department operations, staffing, pricing, policies and procedures.
• Manage replenishment, receiving, invoicing, back stock, and inventory prep.
• Maintain merchandising and sales floor standards, displays and signage.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to staff.
• Resolve conflicts and balance priorities across teams and customers.
• Uphold safety, quality, and customer service standards.
• Build relationships with customers and colleagues to exceed expectations.
