Job summary

Summa Health is seeking a General Mechanic to perform a wide range of maintenance tasks at Barberton Campus. The role involves responding to tenant service requests and executing electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, vinyl and HVAC work.

You will conduct preventative maintenance, document building system activities, and perform safety checks while coordinating with facilities staff. Candidate should have trade schooling or equivalent and maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• Two years trade school or equivalent.
• Two years general maintenance experience in a large institution, commercial facility or service company.
• EPA refrigeration certification preferred; if not certified, must obtain within 6–12 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and responds to tenant requests for services across electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, vinyling and HVAC tasks.
• Performs preventative maintenance and maintains records for main building mechanical systems (air conditioning, plumbing, electrical).
• Performs safety checks; orders supplies and equipment as needed; performs related functions.

Salary

$23.52/hr - $32.63/hr The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members when determining offers. Please keep in mind that the range that is listed is the full base salary range. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical.

Summary

Analyzes and responds in a self-directed manner to tenant requests for services to a broad variety of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, vinyling and heating/cooling functions. Performs preventative maintenance and completes records for the buildings main mechanical systems; air conditioning, plumbing, electrical systems. Performs safety checks; orders supplies and equipment as needed; performs related functions.

Formal Education Required

• a. Two (2) years trade school
• OR
• b. High school level course in grammar, composition and mathematics

Experience & Training Required

• a. Two (2) years general maintenance experience in a large institution, commercial facility or service company
• b. Universal EPA refrigeration certification preferred. If not currently certified, required to obtain certification within 6-12 mths of Summa employment.
