Job summary

NFI Industries is seeking a General Manager I for our Illinois facility. The role directs exempt and non-exempt teams, oversees inventory, vendor, carrier, and customer relationships, and ensures accurate order fulfillment and on-time delivery. Reports to the Director of Warehouse Operations.

The GM manages labor, budgets, safety, and performance metrics, driving improvements and leading cross-functional collaboration across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Supply Chain, Business or related field.
• 7–10 years experience managing a 100,000+ sq ft warehouse/distribution center with up to 1M in revenue.
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (Manhattan preferred).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT, FDA regulations and willingness to certify.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Experience with or willingness to learn performance metrics, Lean/Six Sigma.
• Excellent talent management and team-building skills.
• Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Ability to stand/walk 10–12 hours and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to travel to other warehouses.

Responsibilities

• Oversees facility P&L and budgeting; signs off on purchases and billing.
• Plans long-term labor needs based on forecasts and history.
• Manages 100,000–500,000 sq ft facilities and up to 100 staff in non-peak times.
• Ensures safe, accurate order picking, packing, and timely delivery.
• Drives safety, quality, cost, and delivery improvements across warehousing operations.
