Job summary

Columbia Hospitality’s The Cosmopolitan in Seattle seeks a seasoned General Manager to lead operations for 250 luxury condominiums. You’ll direct all departments, oversee budgeting, profitability, and guest services, and build strong industry and community relations.

The role requires 5+ years of GM experience at a similar property, strong financial and people management skills, and a passion for creating exceptional experiences in a values-driven culture.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years progressive experience in a General Manager role at a property of similar size and level of service.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to write contracts, reports, business correspondence, and operations manuals.
  • Strong general management skills, including planning, organizing, and delivering results.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing financial statements.
  • Strong people management skills, including coaching and team development.

Responsibilities

  • Provides overall direction, coordination and leadership for all departments in the property.
  • Support for group sales outreach, negotiations, planning and service.
  • Direct liaison to community organizations, city officials, industry associations and PR entities.
  • Ensure applicable standards, policies and procedures are implemented in all departments.
  • Participate in annual operating budget and financial planning; monitor goals and profitability.
  • Manage pricing policies for guest services; review expenses and drive revenue growth.
  • Prepare, produce and distribute required reports on time.
  • Protect assets via maintenance, security, emergency planning and capital improvements.
  • Analyze guest feedback and implement service upgrades as needed.
  • Promote the property in the local community and with industry partners.
  • Supervise, train, develop, schedule, discipline, and coach staff; conduct performance reviews.
