Job summary

Columbia Hospitality seeks a seasoned General Manager to lead a multi-department team at a property in Wisconsin. You will direct operations, oversee group sales, liaise with community and industry partners, and ensure adherence to standards, while driving budgeted goals and profitability.

The role requires strong communication, financial acumen, and people leadership to build a culture that delivers exceptional guest experiences and sustainable growth for the property and company.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years progressive GM experience at a property of similar size and level of service.
• Strong knowledge of applicable laws, codes and regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to draft contracts, reports, and operating manuals.

Responsibilities

• Provides overall direction, coordination and leadership for all departments in the property.
• Primary support for group sales outreach, negotiations, planning and service.
• Direct liaison to community organizations, city officials, industry associations and public relations entities.
• Ensures all applicable standards, policies and procedures are implemented in all departments.
• Participates in preparation of the annual operating budget and financial plans.
• Creates and monitors annual operating goals, addressing financial, guest, infrastructure and growth drivers.
• Manages budgeting, pricing policies, operating expenses and profitability strategies.
• Prepares, distributes and analyzes required reports.
• Protects and enhances property assets through maintenance, security and capital improvements.
• Analyzes guest feedback and implements service improvements.
• Promotes the property through community and industry partnerships.
• Selects, trains, coaches, and assesses staff; fosters a positive, results-driven culture.
• Conducts training on job standards and responsibilities.
