Job summary

Museum of Illusions in New York is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead a ~15-person team, hire and train staff, and cultivate a high-performance culture. You will oversee all business functions, support revenue growth, and contribute to profitability.

You will execute local marketing events, act as a spokesperson to the community, ensure compliance, and report on performance to stakeholders. Weekend/holiday schedule is required.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in business administration, operations, or management roles desired.
  • Experience in a leadership role required.
  • Ability to lead a team.
  • Experience in budgeting and P&L responsibility.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to cultivate long-term relationships with partners and community.
  • Experience in hospitality and/or entertainment industry preferred.
  • Enthusiastic with a go-getter attitude.
  • Proactive, organized, accountable, trustworthy.
  • Schedule requires weekend and holiday work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the museum team (~15 people) and hire/train as needed.
  • Establish and nurture a high-performance culture within the team.
  • Oversee all business functions to ensure stable operations and profitability.
  • Execute marketing and sales events with the sales/marketing teams.
  • Act as spokesperson to the community and media, building relationships with local organizations and clients.
  • Supervise day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient processes.
  • Maintain high standards of product, services, and customer experience.
  • Collaborate with other Museum of Illusions locations to share best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and keep stakeholders informed with regular reports.
  • Attend local community events and meetings to promote Museum of Illusions.
