Job summary

Louisiana Children’s Museum in New Orleans seeks an Operations Manager to oversee daily guest-facing operations across Visitor Services, Play Building, and the Museum Store, ensuring safety and high-quality experiences.

You will lead staff scheduling within budget, coach teams, partner with department leaders, and maintain operational readiness to support programs and events while upholding museum policies and inclusive service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree with supervisory experience are required.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, analytical and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office 365; knowledge of Muse and ADP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Promote and uphold the museum’s mission, culture, values and brand.
• Oversee and approve staff scheduling to ensure coverage within labor budgets.
• Ensure operational readiness for Visitor Services, Play Building, Museum Store, Group Visits and Birthday Operations.
• Participate in performance management processes with HR, including coaching and documentation.
• Escalate issues beyond scope or risk tolerance to leadership.
• Partner with other department leaders on higher-level decisions, programs and events.
• Monitor daily operations to identify issues and recommend improvements.
